NHS North West's pioneering Advancing Quality programme is an exciting and ambitious new programme that aims to improve patient care and patient experience in NHS hospitals across the North West.

The programme, which went live in 24 trusts on October 1st 2008, is the first of its kind in the UK and Cube Creative are proud to be developing their bespoke on line hospital quality rating system.

The bespoke built CMS driven website will enable patients to get up-to date information on how NW hospitals are performing and to make informed decisions on their treatment options and expected standards of care pre and post operation.

Pat McLaren heads up the team and joins us from the NHS where she spent the last four years building brand value, engaging stakeholders and managing issues for the prestigious Alder Hey children\\\'s hospital. Pat has a particular interest in health but has worked internationally over the past 20 years for some of the world\\\'s biggest brands.

Cube Creative, has been tasked with developing a dual branded campaign for Ideal Commercial boilers for the launch of its Evo Max boiler.

The campaign will run in conjunction with its merchant network partners Pipe Centre, Plumb Centre and BSS across the UK.

Working with the communications team the campaign will feature across printed media, in-store point of sale all driven with
sales promotion incentives 'Toys for the Boys' and 'iMazing offers' which will go down a storm with installers

Mersey Care has chosen Cube to design its staff 'Positive Achievement Awards'
rewarding staff, service users, carers and other individuals for their work in mental health and learning disability care

The awards are open to everyone connected to Mersey Care - employees and seconded staff,
volunteers, members, service users and carers, and other stakeholders in the mental health,
learning disability community within Mersey Care’s geographical area.

Cube will be delivering the branding for the event across posters, application forms, online and at the event.

Cube Creative, one of the UK's leading specialist NHS Design & Marketing Agencies has been tasked with developing brand guidelines for South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS FT.

Working with the communications team in Banstead Surrey Cube are set to deliver both brand guidelines and staff brand guidelines to help build a stronger sense of understanding with stake-holders, patients, staff and strengthen the brand of South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

At Cube we don't view an NHS client as an NHS brand, we view them as a separate entity that operates under an umbrella brand, and focus on their key differentiators and their unique services, as opposed to offering a generic 'corporate' solution, that falls purely within the NHS brand.

After a rigorous pitching process Cube Creative are delighted to be selected by the team at Ideal Commercial Boilers to deliver creative ideas to drive their marketing in 2010 and beyond.

Ideal Boilers are one of the most respected names in the UK commercial and domestic heating industry and the only company in its field to have achieved 'World Class Manufacturer'Accreditation.

With an exciting brief to promote the launch a new boiler range on the commercial marketplace the creative team delivered the right thinking to be selected by the communications team and we are delighted to be working with such a long established British Manufacturer.

It is with this in mind that we are now 100% committed to gaining our ISO:9001 Quality Assurance Accreditation through one of the UK's leading accreditation company's; The UK Accreditation Bureau. This exciting development means that whilst we already employ the most effective quality systems for clients, that these systems will finally be recognised as effectively providing clients with all the quality assurances that they will need. The program of gaining our accreditation has already commenced and we anticipate being able to announce our successful accreditation within the next couple of months.

At Cube we always relish the opportunity to work on interesting, demanding projects.
And when we were invited to present our ideas on a unique, and somewhat demanding brief for THinK, a Knowsley PCT/Council young persons initiative, we knew we had to come up with something special for the 6 way pitch.
Our solution (which we can\'t show you yet! but will be online in February) had to appeal to a wide range of young people in Knowsley, and surrounding areas, communicating a message of good health and wellbeing, without being patronising.
We are really pleased to be working on this project, and have so far really enjoyed the experience of working with these dedicated young people, and have been really taken back by their enthusiasm and commitment to helping young people in their area.

The tree is up, the mince pies are out and we await the arrival of the fat man. As is customary at Cube we have just drawn up our Secret Santa list, the names are allocated, and the rush is now on to purchase a suitable gift for fellow Cubeoids. The last couple of years provided some interesting presents, including Winter Vegetables (?), and arguably the worlds ugliest ceramic cat. So obviously we are all worried about what is going to surface this year...

But may we take the opportunity to wish all our clients, colleagues, suppliers and friends a fantastic Christmas, and a wonderfully prosperous New Year.

Cube are delighted to have been appointed by the Advancing Quality Team at NHS North West to help deliver the
message of this innovative programme to enhance standards in patient care.

Advancing Quality is taking place in 24 acute trusts across Northwest England, and it aims to give patients a better experience of health services, and ultimately, a better quality of life.

The programme is initially measuring standards in five clinical areas: heart failure, heart bypass, heart attack, hip and knee surgery and community acquired pneumonia. It will incentivise improvement in the quality of care provided to patients by measuring three quality indicators: Clinical Outcome Measures, Patient Reported Outcome Measures, and Patient Experience.

Over its initial three years, it is anticipated Advancing Quality will save the NHS in the Northwest £17 million, by:

• saving 141 lives
• avoiding 159 complications
• reducing re-admissions by 248
• saving 20,811 hospital days

It will help hospitals to reduce their costs significantly and safely, allowing them to reinvest their savings in improving facilities and care. The expertise and reputations of doctors and nurses will also be clearly acknowledged. They will be able to expand their skills and knowledge by sharing what works well in their hospitals or clinics - and what doesn’t - with colleagues across the region.
